![]() ![]() It is a sadly acknowledged fact that Christians are perceived to be the worst tippers. Even among those who preach and claim the false gospel of financial prosperity, their so-called faith for prosperity usually only extends as far as themselves. Of course, the absolute opposite should be the case. What's even worse is when Christians use "giving the gospel" as an excuse not to give money! They leave a tract instead of a tip, and justify themselves by thinking that the gospel is more valuable than any dollar bill. While there is truth in this, the heart behind it is totally sinful - and God will not accept such whitewash.
2 Corinthians 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. It should be a Christian's joy to become poor for the sake of others, to give generously on every occasion regardless of personal circumstances. And, while it is clear that this is not speaking primarily of money and worldly wealth, this is by no means excluded. There is simply no excuse for anyone who calls themself a Christian to be miserly or stingy. Not only is it unloving towards others, not only does it give a very bad reflection of Jesus Christ, but it demonstrates an extreme lack of love for God. Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
